Hard to say goodbye.

When you want to travel on a long,

Long journey;

That will last for

Days,

Weeks,

Months, or even

Years.

You begin to wonder,

Wondering what it is in life,

That you have to leave;

Your dear family,

Dear relatives, and

Neighbours;

To go work in a far,

Far land;

To get food and drink-

For the family.

While others get their daily bread,

Just at their doorstep.

Such thoughts,

Make it even harder;

To utter heartily

The wonderful word,

“Goodbye!”
