LIVE LOVE

In the desert of loneliness,

There is an oasis of love.

Like fire is put out by water,

So is hatred neutralized by love.

And iron sharpens iron,

So is love begets love.

In this life,
Live love!

It is God’s expectation of man,

That,

Man; created in the Image and Likeness of God-LOVES.

Because God is love.

And in this moment of,

What’s love?!

Speak,

Preach, and

Remind humankind of

“Love your neighbor as you love yourself.”

Ride on the love bandwagon.

Live love!

Love and let love!

Let light be there!

ENDURING LOVE

I read it in the news;

That,

During The Westgate Mall terrorist attack,

In Westlands,

Nairobi,

Kenya;

 An Indian boy

Had accompanied an elderly kin

For shopping

When the terrorists attacked.

The news had it that,

The boy could have escaped out,

But wouldn’t do that;

Lest he could have left

The elderly kin alone;

Who could barely walk,

Not even run.

As a result,

The boy remained behind,

To face come what may,

With the elderly kin who could hardly escape.

As a result,

They were both executed.

It was the boy’s enduring love for her kin that made him hurtle to his fate.

LOVE IS ...

Love is …

When a baby,

In its mother’s arms;

Experiencing  mother tender touch.

And baby,

Glancing at mother;

Melts into a bewitching smile.

A smile sending the bouncing baby,

Shivering-

Almost jumping out of its own skin.

A smile full of tender love,

Happiness, and

Gratitude.

The Universe in the baby, and

In the mother.

And the mother;

Reciprocating  her baby’s smile,

In assurance of her unconditional love-

To the new-born.

Yes,

What’s  love?!

Love is …

When a child,

Having wronged its mother;

Is punished by whipping.

The child cries and cries.

Then the offended turns back,

To console the offender;

By breast-feeding.

Thus the once offender is fed,

Watching at the mother,

Hopefully, and

With unwavering faith all will be well.

And with this assurance;

The baby is lulled,

Peacefully,

To sleep.

Such is it now;

Love and care.

Love is …

Husband and wife;

While bitterly quarreling

In the house.

There arrive the guests-

Unexpectedly.

Now the wife,

Suddenly wipes off her tears,

Forgets her sorrows,

And begins to dance in happiness and love.

That,

At least,

Visitors-

A blessing has come!

And she heartily greets and welcomes them,

With a hearty smile on her once tearful face!

Or again,

Love is …

Husband and wife;

Having been quarrelling

The night before.

Disagreeing until they agree …

To disagree;

Are seen

Early the following day,

Nicely dressed and happy.

Going shopping;

More united and happier than ever!

Letting bygones be bygones.

Love is …

Happily giving and enjoying it;

Even without

Expecting gratitude from the receiver, or

Without even worrying about ingratitude from the receiver,

In return.

Yes,

This…love!

Love is …

An illiterate African Mother,

Escorting her baby girl,

To school every weekday.

 And waiting to take the girl back

Come evening;

Ended up,

Realizing the benefits of acquiring formal education.

As a result,

Enrolled herself

To beat illiteracy on that score.

While accompanying her daughter

To and from school.

Thus,

Killing two birds with

The same silver bullet!

Love is …

An unconditional act,

Portrayed by the strict parent,

Who,

After punishing his disobeying kids;

Bought and brought home;

Gifts and goodies

For all the kids;

Not mentioning

A thing

About the previous punishment.

Or remembering a thing

Of the disobedience

In relation to the presents

He bought and brought

To his dear kids!

BROTHERLY LOVE

There is a short story,

A short African story of love.

Brotherly love;

About two young brothers,

Who,

To show their true love;

Ended up sharing

A very small,

Wild fruit,

The size of a wild berry;

As a positive sign

Of their love and care for each other.

Yes,

Bonded by

Love and

Blood.

Thus an African saying goes,

‘Two brothers shared a small wild fruit!’

To show love.

LOVELY IS THE SEA

Lovely is the sea,

When it is light blue at the shallow end,

And deep blue at the deep end.

Yes,

Lovely is the sea,

When speed boats run around

Helter Skelter.

And,

Lovely is the sea,

When people of all walks of life

Get scattered at the beach.

While,

Lovely is the sea,

When the waves and tides are low.

And lovely, yet, is the sea,

When the waves and tides are high.

And,

Still,

Lovely is the sea,

When people of both gender

Are swimming in their swimming costumes and bikinis.

Well,

Lovely is the sea,

When people are sun-bathing at the beach.

Lovely is the sea,

When people are jogging along the beach.

Lo,

Lovely is the sea,

When people are playing beach volleyball.

Lovely is the sea,

When there is a live music band

Playing at the beach.

Again,

Lovely is the sea,

When people are sand-bathing on the beach.

Lovely is the sea,

When people are having fun at the beach.

Lovely is the sea,

When people are teaching one another how to swim.

And,

Lovely is the sea,

When the sea-breeze is cool and fresh on a hot day.

What about,

Lovely is the sea,

When people go for picnic at the beach.

Try this,

When we ride on animals like:

Camels,

Elephants,

Donkeys, and

Horses.

Lovely is the sea,

When you speak and sing

To the waves.

I say,

Lovely is the sea,

When the waves superimpose to bigger waves-

 Swinging and producing white bubbles.

Lovely is the sea,

When the waves move successively.

Lovely is the sea,

When migrating fish fly-

From the sea to the air,

And back to the sea in swarms successively.

Lovely is the sea,

When I see the dolphin,

Jump up in the air and back into the sea.

Lovely is the sea,

When the sun is rising in the far horizon.

Lovely is the sea,

When the sun is setting in the far horizon.

LOVELY IS THE SKY

Lovely is the sky,

When you take a flight up there.

Lovely is the sky,

When you fly through the clouds.

Lovely is the sky,

When you fly above the clouds.

Lovely is the sky,

When it feels so lonely in the sky,

Above the clouds.

Lovely is the sky,

When the kite you are flying in,

Hit turbulences and ‘potholes’,

In the sky!
